With an increasing number of Arabs migrating to the United States in the recent years, and augmented social stressors of this group post September 11, 2001, it is imperative for the mental health field to reach and provide help to this population. However, the lack of assessment tools in Arabic makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to provide adequate assistance to individuals, couples, or families who speak Arabic. For Arab American couples, in particular, there are no assessment tools to evaluate the quality of their marital relationships, especially when they are facing marital difficulties. Consequently, this study translated the Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale into the Arabic language, and examined its validity based on data collected from Arab couples.
