In this thesis, consists of three chapters, subject is studying the work the most important of Henri Michaux, entitled Ailleurs. The writing of travel in Ailleurs will be studied in this thesis. Henri Michaux the famous writer and poet of the xx century is also a large traveler. He travels so much in the real space and time as in the imaginary space. Ailleurs is written from his imaginary travels and the main objective in this thesis is following Michaux in his imaginary travels to Grande Garabagne and to pays de la Magie and to Poddema. These three travels make up three chapters of Ailleurs. In the first chapter of this thesis, we have tried to talk more about the life of Henri Michaux except his travels and give the factors that have enforce him to travels like family atmosphere and the feeling of being a stranger in his parents. We have also talked about his other passions like painting, music. The second chapter is assigned to the travels of Michaux. A travel to South America inspires Ecuador; a few years later, he tells his long travel to India and to Chine in another travel journal, Un Barbare en Asie. After Ecuador and Un Barbare en Asie, we have studied the travels that he has made by his imagination and he has described manners and customs of the peoples living in imaginary countries. In the last chapter, the writing of Ailleurs is exposed. We have tried to show how Michaux has written Ailleurs and he has used which means to express his imagination.
