"The smelting of iron and steel, in addition to the obvious negative impact on the environment, is accompanied by the formation of a significant amount of iron-containing wastes, the direct recycling of which is impossible without agglomeration. Since a long time, cold agglomeration turned out to be uncompetitive in comparison with sintering and pellet production. The book explains the reasons for the unsatisfactory nature of the metallurgical properties of briquettes and justifies the prospect of a new technology of briquetting - stiff vacuum extrusion. Comparable in performance with sintering, this technology will significantly reduce harmful emissions"--
