"This book explains the basics of bondgraph theory in the first three chapters followed by a chapter on the art of creating bondgraph models. Modelling of systems in noninertial coordinates, systems with nonconservative forces, mechanisms and robotic systems further consolidates this art. The power of bondgraph modelling in special applications such as moving loads is demonstrated by modelling in modal components. One chapter is devoted to modelling of thermal processes, heat conduction including material transfer and mechanical effects. Later the dynamics of a compressor-reservoir system is discussed as an example of thermomechanical system. Bondgraph modelling of hydraulic network has been developed from fundamentals of fluid mechanics. Modelling of a low speed high torque motor provides an example of a hydromechanical system.
