Teacher leaders participate in leadership within their schools while also teaching in the classroom. Yet some teacher leaders lack preparation and training for leadership roles. This phenomenological study describes the lived experiences of three teacher leaders working in Christian schools in southeastern Pennsylvania. The purpose of the study was to understand the experiences of teacher leaders as they make meaning of their development and practice of leadership. Furthermore, the study looked at the enablers of and barriers to becoming a teacher leader and practicing leadership. The context of Christian schools provided a unique setting for this study.
