This study examined the influence of the neoliberal global education reform movement on the Saudi public education system and how it has shaped policy reforms from 2001 to 2018. The researcher utilized a qualitative case study design to provide in-depth analysis of recent changes in public education policy. Two data collection techniques were used: collecting documents from a variety of national educational entities and conducting semi-structured interviews with senior education policymakers. The findings are presented in three sections. The first shows structural adjustments in the national education system as a result of the reforms. The second identifies major reforms that influenced Saudi education policy. Finally, the changes in education policy apparent in the data are presented in four main themes: privatization, Competitiveness, standardization, and improving resource management and efficiency. The study concluded the global education reform movement has influenced public education policy in Saudi Arabia and offers recommendations for practice and future research.
