The United Arab Emirates is home to an increasing number of expatriates, and this is resulting in extensive and rapidly changing cultural diversity within the UAE. This dissertation deals with cross-cultural diversity management in the field of law enforcement. Police officers must be Emirati born and they are responsible for handling UAE's rapidly diversifying civil population. This demands a highly efficient officer who has sound knowledge of diverse cultures and can build proper public relations, which is one of the fundamental elements of the peacekeeping process. This research aimed to evaluate the cultural barriers and miscommunications that happen because of the lack of awareness police officers have with foreign cultures. It focuses on the development of tactical and measurable ways in which the current system for training and educating police candidates can be modulated to increase cultural awareness. The underlying goal is to demonstrate the importance of building public relations between civilians and law enforcement via culture training and cross-cultural diversity management. A survey was given to the students enrolled at the Dubai Police Academy. The responses were compiled by google survey and generated in the form of charts showing response frequencies, which were qualitatively interpreted. The results show that academy students have experienced problems while interacting with people from various cultures. They specified that their main source of cultural awareness was through primary interaction and their own experiences. The respondents also showed positive attitudes towards having a dedicated course for their cultural awareness training.
