SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of semantic feature analysis (SFA) with innovation based on the theory of topographic representation of functional _ semantic units of the verb through the activation of neural circuits. Methods: Two copies of SFA were used through a single case study with A1B1A2B2 / A1B2A2B1 design. The first version of semantically related verbs was applied by separating the verbs related to hand, foot and face and another from unrelated semantic verbs. The four participant were divided into two groups. Group 1 received A1B1A2B2 treatment and group 2 received A1B2A2B1 design. Level, slope and trend were calculated based on statistic D for experimental and control verbs. Results: SFA was generally effective in both versions. However, the effect size is larger for semantic related verb packages (26.97 - 8.30 for expremental verbs and 28.22-5.19 for control verbs in the semantic unrelated version, 28.73 - 15.72 for the expremental package and 32.82 - 11.72 for the control package in the semantic related version). Achieving the accuracy criterion in the semantically related version occurred in less time. Conclusion: Meaning-based therapies were useful for verb retrieval problems, especially when programmed to activate integrated neural assemblies. Keywords: Aphasia, Verb, Treatment, Semantic Feature, Persian
