This study is a descriptive qualitative one that is purposed for knowing the appropriateness of the English textbook content with the Cognitive Dimension of Revised Bloom Taxonomy and for knowing the dominant cognitive dimension of the Revised Bloom Taxonomy in the textbook of 10th grade high school. This research is focused on analyzing the English textbook, Vision 1: both student book and work book, which has been the official textbook of senior high school in Iran since 2016. The data is analyzed through data analysis table or in other words through coding scheme to categorize the activities defined as the following: a question or instructional activity, based on cognitive dimensions which are remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. Findings of this study indicate that the number of activities of applying level is the highest percentage in these textbooks, 43.5 . The frequency of applying is 73 out of 168 activities, which is the third level of Blooms Revised Taxonomy. The activities that work on the cognitive level of remembering rank second with the percentage of 31 and the frequency is 52 out of 168. The third most frequent one is understanding with 42 activities or 25 . The fourth level of the blooms revised taxonomy is analyzing which has revealed in just 0.6 activities which means there is just 1 activity that refers to analyzing. And the lowest numbers with cognitive aspects in Vision 1 book, are evaluating and creating with 0 percentages. Based on the data analysis, Iranian senior high schools English textbook placed emphasis on the lower order thinking processes, remembering, understanding, applying with 99.4 percentage and it does not refer to higher order thinking skills. It shows that Vision 1 book (both student book & work book) is not appropriate with the cognitive dimension theory of Blooms Revised Taxonomy since it does not cover the entire cognitive levels equally. There are many uneven cognitive dimensions activities, in other words the cognitive levels are not revealed in activities equally. There are only 0.6 activities dealing with the higher order thinking in other words, there is almost no activity referring to higher order ones. The study might have some pedagogical implications for second language teachers and syllabus designers.

کتاب درسی یکی از مهمترین مراجع و منابع یادگیری دانش اموزان در نظام کنونی اموزشی محسوب شده و در کشور ما که اکثر فعالیت های اموزشی در چهارچوب کتب درسی صورت میگیرد، یکی از مهمترین نقش ها را ایفا میکند .اهمیت کتب درسی را نمی توان از نظر دور دانست .با توجه به اهمیت این امر، هدف این تحقیق بررسی میزان پرداختن محتوای کتاب زبان انگلیسی پایه دهم دوره دوم متوسطه که در سال ۱۳۹۵ تدوین شده به هر کدام از طبقات حیطه شناختی بلوم می باشد .تحقیق از نوع توصیفی است و روش اماری به کار رفته امار توصیفی) فراوانی و درصد (میباشد .جامعه اماری تحقیق کل تمرین های کتاب های زبان انگلیسی پایه دهم Vision 1 می باشد .نتایج حاصل از تحقیق نشان دهنده این امر هست که تدوین تمرین کتاب Vision 1 بیشتر به اهداف طبقه پایین حیطه شناختی توجه شده است و طبقات بالای حیطه مورد کم توجهی قرار گرفته است .نتایج حاصل از تحقیق اشکار نمود که علی رغم توجه کمتر به یادگیری طوطی وار در کتاب زبان انگلیسی پایه دهم به دلیل فقدان هماهنگی لازم میان اهداف ، فعالیت ها و ارزشیابی ها ، در این کتاب ها انتقال یادگیری در سطح پایین صورت گرفته و لذا دانش اموزان به زمان بیشتری برای یادگیری نیاز دارند
