SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note

Abstract:The present study was conducted to investigate the allelopathic effects of crop residues on the yield of Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) and Common lambsquarters (Chenopodium album L.) in greenhouse conditions, in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The effect of rapeseed and wheat crop residues at the levels of zero, two and four ton per hectare on the yield of Common bean and redroot pigweed and common lambsquarters was significant. Application of crop residues led to reduced growth and seed production of weeds, redroot pigweed and common lambsquarters, as well as reduced Common bean growth and yield. In general, the results of this study showed that the use of crop residues led to a decrease in plant height, number of lateral branches, leaf area per plant, leaf chlorophyll index, shoot dry matter, biomass, seed production per plant, number of seeds per plant and weight of thousand seeds. On the other hand, plant height, shoot dry matter, single plant biomass and weight of hundred Common bean seeds increased under plant residues, and leaf area per plant, leaf chlorophyll index, number of seeds per pod, number of seeds per plant, seed yield per plant And Common bean harvest index decreased in terms of crop residues. Due to the average reduction of weed growth and seed production and a slight decrease in Commn bean growth and yield, it is possible to use wheat and rapeseed crop residues to control Common bean weeds in the form of integrated management program and reduce the environmental effects of herbicides.
