Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare brain-behavioral systems and personality traits in criminals and ordinary people. The research method is descriptive and has a causal-comparative type. The research community was Bokan County Prison Offenders. The sample size was 124 and the sampling method was purposeful. To measure the variables, a short form of Gary Wilson Questionnaire and five major factors were used. The results of this study showed that behavioral activation system and behavioral restraint system were stronger in criminals than normal people. This difference was significant at 0.01, but there was no significant difference in the system of war and escape between criminals and normal people. Also, there was a significant increase in neuroticism and extraversion among offenders than normal people, which was significant at 0.01, on the other hand, consensus, experience and conscientiousness were more significant among ordinary people and 0.01. Therefore, we conclude that behavioral brain systems and personality traits are different between offenders and ordinary people. And according to Eysenck theory, this difference is different because of the nervous system.
