SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
Today's world is comprised of multicultural communities filled with people that belong to different races, ethnicities, and linguistic and ethnic groups. Therefore, effective communication has not become a challenge. Translation is crucial for communication and exchange of information between two different languages and cultures. In the healthcare field the need for competent translators crucial since it involves a person's health and overall well-being. Proper diagnosis and treatment is difficult when doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals are unable to speak the same language as the patient. The consequences of this miscommunication can lead to serious errors in diagnosis, mistreatment and could even lead to death. Helping Hand Translation Service understands this problem exists in the healthcare field, especially amongst the Syrian refugees that primarily speak Arabic. Therefore, Helping Hand Translation Service will center itself in Anaheim California's Little Arabia where there is a high percentage of Syrian refugees and Arabic speaking patients in need of assistance. This business plan examines the possibilities for Helping Hand Translation Service providing care for patients in Anaheim.
