Text of Note
The open source NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a Java IDE project started by Sun, which has gained tremendous market interest and momentum of late, and is closing the gap between itself and the most popular, leading open source Java IDE, Eclipse. Pro NetBeans aims to publish on the NetBeans Java IDE, a market that is now under-represented in the marketplace, unlike the near saturation of Eclipse books. Specifically, this book aims to be first to market on the new NetBeans 5.5 Java IDE, based on the relatively new Java EE 5 platform and J2SE 5. The book is intended for Java developers of varying skill who may or may not be familiar with Netbeans IDE or Java IDEs in general. Netbeans IDE is an amazing tool for rapidly developing Java applications.
