SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
This dissertation seeks to illuminate the complex relationship between religion and ethnicity. More specifically, it focuses on the role of supranational religious identities in ethnic conflicts, and asks: under what conditions-when, why and how-does religion become the main carrier for ethnic identities in religiously homogenous ethno-nationalist conflicts?
