SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
Volume 4 covers mononuclear organogermanium compounds containing only germanium-carbon and germanium-hydrogen bonds. They are arranged in the order GeR3H, GeR2H2, and Ge(R)H3, whereby the R groups can be identical or different. The reactivity of the Ge-H bond has been studied extensively, particularly in reactions where Ge(C2H5)3H, Ge(C4H9)3H, and Ge(C6H5)3H were used as the reactants for a large variety of organic and organometallic compounds. Others like Ge(CH3)2H2 or Ge(CH3)H3 have been the subject of many spectroscopic and structural investigations due to their symmetry and analogy to other corresponding Group-14 compounds. The present volume takes full account of these and other developments.
