posttest with control group design was used. The pre-test for False Belief which included two tasks: 1)Change of location task 2) Unexpected- content task and the test ofAppearance-reality Task were administered for all of 8-12 years old students with intellectual disability in an exceptional school Meshkin Shahr.39 students were selected and divided into two groups randomly, anexperimental group (20 students) and a control group (19 students). Duringthe study, 9 students did not continue the process and were dropped. The pretest of Social Skills Rating Scale (SSRS) was completed by remaining student. The experimental group had training for 8 sessions. Posttest for Theory of Mind and SSRS were administered immediately after intervention. For analyzing data, Kolmogorov- smirnov, independent T test and ANCOVA were applied.Findings: The experimental group had better results in their social skills than the control group. Also, they had higher grades in cooperation, selfcontrol than control group (p<0.001). But this was not true for Assertion(p<0.143).Conclusion: theory of mind training can improve social skills, cooperation and self-control in male students with intellectual disability, but it notincreases assertion. In sum, it can be concluded that theory of mind training will increase the success of intellectual disabled students in social skills in future years.Keyword: theory of mind, social skills and intellectual disability ت Objective: The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of Theory of Mind training on improving social skills of 8-12 years-old male students with intellectual disability.Method: semi-experimental study with pretest
