AbstractParvin E'tesami is the most famous female poet in Persian didactic literature, and her only work is E'tesami's Divan, which remained from her in her short lifetime. Her Qasidas follow the style of great poets such as Nasir Khusraw, Sanai, and Saadi from the point of view of forceful words and the inclusion of philosophical, moral, and social advice. This thesis has examined poems in terms of vocabulary, grammar, innovation in the theme, and adaptation of concepts from previous poets. This research aims to describe the literal problems and to find the extent of adaptation and innovation in this Divan. The method of this research is descriptive-analytical. The research results in that a few rare words need explanation in E'tesami's Divan. Most of the sentences are simple; furthermore, they are a compound of two parts. New themes are infrequent in this Divan. E'tesami has taken moral and ethical concepts from most of the previous poets, especially from Nasir Khusraw, Sanai, Saadi, Rumi, and Hafez, and has used them for morals and social reforms and fighting against the corruption of tyrants. What made E'tesami's Divan independent is the new expression with pleasant images seen throughout his Divan. Paying attention to the woman and giving importance to her social role makes E’tesami's poetry different from the poetry of previous poets.
