Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an important source of funding for developing countries, especially Iran. Important factors that affect foreign direct investment are corporate income tax rates and exchange rate uncertainty. Because exchange rate uncertainties increase investment risk, and on the other hand, corporate income tax rates can also affect decisions on foreign investment location. Therefore, considering the importance of the issue, in this dissertation, the effect of corporate income tax and exchange rate uncertainty on FDI attraction in Iran over the period of 1981-2017 has been studied. The research method used in this paper is fuzzy regression. The results showed that the interaction between corporate income tax and exchange rate uncertainty had a negative effect on attracting foreign direct investment in Iran. The findings also indicated that GDP and the degree of openness of trade had a positive effect and inflation rate and sanctions with high and low intensities, as a virtual variable, had a negative effect on attracting foreign direct investment in Iran. As a result, severe sanctions are the main obstacle to attracting foreign direct investment in Iran because they greatly affect other factors and decrease motivations for foreign direct investment
