Diabetes is a chronic disease capable of cousing serious complications affecting the circulatory and nervous system, kidneys, eyes, and feet, and is associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. One reason for the failure in acheveing optimal therapeutic results in diabetic patients is their non-participation in the treatment of their disease. Psychological factors such as personality and coping styles have important role in adherence of self-care programs among diabetes patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of personality factors in self-care and treatment outcomes (increasing of quality of life, mental health, treatment satisfaction, and decreasing depression, anxiety and HbA1c) among patients with type 2 diabetes with regard to moderating role of coping styles.
