The present thesis consists of an introduction and four chapters on simile, metaphor, figure and irony, respectively.Chapter on simile sets out to analyze 26 types of simile in terms of: ( 1 ) kinds of simile regarding the presence or absence of adjuncts, presence or absence of ground, ( 2 ) the two terms, ( 3 ) perceptibility or imperceptibility of the two terms, ( 4 ) plurality of the two terms. It explores separately the other sorts of simile including allegorical, explicit, conditional and antithetical as well. It then scrutinizes the several types of employed adjuncts and different categories of ground under so-called labels as single, plural, compound, sensual, conceptual, verified, fictional and ambivalent. Each title starts with an inclusive definition of well-known and methodical books on rhetoric associated with references, and follows with example verse from Mujir al-Din Beilaqani,s odes ( Qasaid ) which are subsequently explored and analyzed against mentioned definitions. A ' commentary' section concludes the chapter. Chapter two studies ten varieties of metaphor as explicit, implicit, mental, main, subordinate ( including action and attribute), abstract, complex, ironic and absolute metaphors. Each category then is likewise defined and examples from Mujir are cited. It ends equally with a Commentary section. Continuation of abstract Chapter on metonymy ( Majaz ) considers different kinds of relation between the two terms, as exist in Persian poetry, recorded in Mojire's odes, and provides a brief definition for each series associated with example verses.Chapter four distinguishes between three main categories of irony ( Kinaya ) in terms of the meaning intended so as to analyze two categories of it in relation with implicitness or explicitness and shortage or excess of the vehicles as accessible and conceit, explicit( gesture ) and allusion. Each section ends with a commentary preceded with the definition and example verses. objective: Enthusiasm for rhetoric and its analysis in classic works led the author to select the present subject matter so that she can study discretely the eloquent language of the Azerbaijani poet Mujir al-Din Beilaqani. The main objective underlying the study is to compile a comprehensive and at the same time simple dissertation that can help the scholars and students working on rhetoric. Method: The author started carefully studying the odes by Mujir and making note of the entire rhetorical examples once his proposal was approved. He then organized them according to the traditional division of rhetoric into four discrete chapters, with each chapter starting with an inclusive and general definition of the subject under discussion and then providing the related definitions and example verses.
