پرش یا جهش هیدرولیکی، از نوع جریانصهای متغیر سریع است و عبارت است از پدیدهصای که طی آن جریان از حالت فوق بحرانی به حالت زیر بحرانی تبدیل میصشود.مهمصترین کاربردهای پرش هیدرولیکی عبارتند از
A hydraulic jump is one of the most cases of rapidly varied flow and occurs when super critical flow has to change into sub critical flow.The most important applications of the hydraulic jump are: 1- Dissipation of energy below spillway, weirs, gates, etc. so that scour in the down stream channel is prevented. 2- It has also been used to raise the water level down stream to provide the requisite head for diversion into canals and also to increase the water Load on aprons, thereby counteracting the uplift pressure. 3- The hydraulic jump is also used in municipal water supply systems to mix chemicals as well as to remove air pockets. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of a hydraulic jump in a gradually expanding channel with adverse slope. The range of angle of expansion studied is form 4.56 to 16 and range of adverse slope studied is 1.6 , 3.4 , 5 and 6.7 . Experiments have been done to study the hydraulic jumps for five different discharge and Froude numbers. Froude numbers considered range was from 2.6 to 3.7.Observations of super critical flow in a gradually expanding channel with advers slope reveal that the streamlines are approximately radial. The results of this study reveal that increase in Froude number cause increase in the sequent depth, jump length and energy losses. Divergence and adverse slope of the channel causes reductions in the sequent depth and jump length and increase of the energy losses in the jumps occurring in rectangular cross sections.
