Mediterranean flour moth( Ephestia kuehniella Zeller. 1879) is an important stored pest that causes serious problems in flour producing firms. The pest is often in the mills, bakeries and flour warehouses which sanitation is not respected there. Larval nets prevent the correct operation of the flour making. Several types of fats in insects body play an important role on their development. Some fats like phospholipids and triglycerids are active in whole life stages including egg, larvae, pupa and adult and play an important role on insect metabolism. Metabolism of fats is essential in the growth and reproduction and it is the central storage depot of nutrients and energy reserves. In this research the constitutive fatty acids of phospholipids and triglycerids were studied in the 4 th and 5 th instar in three different diets and were compared. Also the predominant fatty acids in each age and diet and the impact of different age and diet on the fatty acid changes was determined by the TLC and GLC. The results showed that palmitic acid was the predominant fatty acid in both groups and alpha-linoleic acid was the lowest. Palmitic acid and oleic acid on the diet of flour and bran in the fifth instar larvae and both groups had the highest percentage; 48.3 and 51 , respectively. The most fatty acid in the diet of sunflower seeds, in both groups and the fourth instar larvae was linoleic acid with an average of 48.8 percent. In both sections palmitic acid prevailed in the five instar larvae and other fatty acids were dominant at the fourth instar larvae. The lowest amount of fatty acid in the fourth instar larvae and diet of sunflower seeds was the alpha linoleic with 0.07 and 1 in the triglycerides and phospholipid groups, respectively. most of the triglyceride was included palmitic acid. Sunflower oil containing saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, which in the unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid accounted for the largest percentage. As a result, the type of diet developmental stage in the both group, were important on the amount of fatty acids but did not affect the fatty acid composition. In general, the fatty acids were changed according to environmental conditions and insect diet, and are reported as a regular supplement of fatty acids of the Mediterranean flour moth four and five instar larvae
