The purpose of this Capstone is to provide direction on how to create effective information security awareness and training sessions for older adults of the general public. Suggestions include the use of the formal structure of awareness and training used in public and private organizations to educate older adults about the threats that target them in cyberspace. It is crucial for public and private organizations to consider using awareness and training as their basis for education of the demographic group because tips and awareness campaigns lack the impact necessary for mitigating or stopping the victimization of older adults. Findings were able to demonstrate; the victimization of older adults could be associated to the negative effects of aging, the evident need of robust awareness and training for the demographic group, and how awareness and training should be composed. Research concluded that information security awareness and training sessions targeted at the weaknesses or vulnerabilities of older adults could provide them the knowledge needed to protect themselves in cyberspace on a daily basis.
