Abū Manṣūr Ilyās al-Zanātī al-Nafūsī was the governor of Jabal Nafūsa and Tripolitania, under the Rustamid imām of Tāhart (Tahert), Abū l-Yaqẓān Muḥammad b. Aflaḥ (r. 260-81/874-894). According to al-Shammākhī (d. 928/1522), he came from the village of Tindemīra, in the Jabal Nafūsa ( Siyar , 224). The dates of the birth and death of Abū Manṣūr are unknown. The Ibāḍī historian al-Darjīnī (d. 670/1271-2) placed him in the sixth ṭabaqa (generation; 250-300/864-913), together with ʿAmrūs b. Fatḥ
