The year Danny kills himself, his father, Dr. Jack Owens, spends the entire summer watching mental reruns of his life, castigating himself for his failures as a parent and grieving for the 15-year-old son who couldn't resolve a moral dilemma: Which is more important, honesty or loyalty?
