(Producer) MR aids in diagnosis of tumors in the posterior fossa and cerebellopontine angles, and offers a high level of gray-white matter differentiation, a lack of bone artifacts from the adjacent thick skull base, and multiplanar images. The identification of cysts often helps to narrow the differential diagnosis and may facilitate the surgical decompression of tumors. This course demonstrates the ability of MR to demonstrate the solid or cystic nature of tumors in these regions.
