هدف :با توجه به اینکه درک گفتار، در افراد در معرض نویز دچار اختلال می‌شود، این پژوهش با هدف بررسی اثر نویز محیط کار بر ظرفیت حافظه‌ی کاری و پردازش شنوایی زمانی و دایکوتیک، و ارتباط آن‌ها در معلمان مقطع دبستان انجام شد .روش بررسی :۵۶ زن ۳۰ تا ۵۰ سال در دو گروه هدف و کنترل در این مطالعه شرکت کردند .۲۸ معلم زن( محدوده‌ی سنی ۴۲۶ سال) با شنوایی هنجار و ضعف در درک گفتار در حضور نویز در گروه هدف و ۲۸ زن( محدوده سنی ۳۸۵ سال) با شنوایی هنجار و امتیاز هنجار در آزمون درک گفتار و عدم حضور در محیط پرصدا، در گروه کنترل قرار گرفتند .آزمون‌های حافظه‌ی کاری (اعداد مستقیم، اعداد معکوس وback)- n، اعداد دایکوتیک و کشف وقفه در هر دو گروه انجام شد .میانگین امتیازات دو گروه در هر یک از آزمون ها به دست آمد و با یکدیگر مقایسه شد .همچنین ارتباط بین پردازش‌های شنوایی و ظرفیت حافظه مورد بررسی قرار گرفت .نتایج :مقایسه‌ی میانگین‌ها بین دو گروه، در آزمون‌های اعداد دایکوتیک، کشف وقفه در تون‌های خالص ۵۰۰، ۱۰۰۰، ۲۰۰۰ و ۴۰۰۰، و آزمون‌های حافظه‌ی کاری اعداد مستقیم، اعداد معکوس وback- n، نشان داد که امتیاز گروه معلمان به صورت معناداری از گروه کنترل کمتر است>(p۰۵.۰ .)همبستگی میان آزمون‌های ظرفیت حافظه‌ی کاری و پردازش‌های شنوایی زمانی و دایکوتیک نیز مورد بررسی قرار گرفت، که همبستگی معناداری مشاهده نشد<(p۰۵.۰>r ,۱.۰ .)بحث :یافته‌ها نشان داد که حضور در محیط پرصدا، سبب ضعف در پردازش‌های زمانی، دایکوتیک و ظرفیت حافظه‌ی کاری می‌شود .اما همبستگی معناداری میان ظرفیت حافظه‌ی کاری و پردازش‌های شنوایی زمانی و دایکوتیک مشاهده نشد .یافته‌های مطالعه‌ی حاضر نشان دهنده‌ی آثار سوء مواجهه با نویز بر درک گفتار و لزوم محافظت شنوایی در برابر نویز است .کلید واژه :نویز، حافظه‌ی کاری، شنوایی دایکوتیک، کشف وقفه، پردازش شنوایی

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of work environment noise on working memory capacity, temporal and dichotic auditory processing in elementary school teachers. Also, the relationship between working memory capacity and auditory processing in the teachers with normal hearing and poor speech perception in noise was studied. Methods: 56 women aged 30-50 years participated in this study. The participants classified into case and control groups. 28 women (426 years) teachers with normal hearing and poor speech perception in noise were in the case group, and 28 women (385 years) with normal hearing and good scores in speech perception in noise who did not work in noisy environment, were in the control group. Working memory tests (Digit Span Forward, Digit Span backward and n-back test), dichotic digit test and gap-detection test were performed for the both groups. The mean scores of each test were obtained in the two groups and compared with each other. Also the relationship between auditory processing and working memory capacity was studied. Results: Comparison of means between the two groups in dichotic digit tests, gap-detection test in pure tones of 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz, and working memory tests of digit span forward, digit span backward and n-back test were done. The findings showed that the score of the case group (teachers) was significantly less than the control group (p <0.05). Also the correlation between working memory capacity with temporal and dichotic auditory processing tests was investigate, which were not correlated (p> 0.05,r<0.1). Discussion: The results of the study showed that noise exposure in work environment causes weakness in temporal and dichotic auditory processing, and working memory capacity. But there was no correlation between working memory capacity and temporal and dichotic auditory processing. The findings of this study show the effects of noise exposure on speech perception and memory capacity, and need to protect hearing from noise.
