Prologue One of the elders' biggest problems is damage caused to their working skills' functionality, and attempt to reach independence in this field is one of their most important concerns. All of the treatment procedures in rehabilitation are effective only when an adult patient can reach independence in their skills and use those skills effectively. Therefore a well timed estimation of elder patient's skills' functionality is crucial in developing a suitable rehabilitation program. The COPM test evaluates many different aspects of working functionality and is applicable to a wide variety of ages and disabilities as well. Also patient's opinions about treatment goals and treatment program are taken into account in this test. The purpose of this methodological study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of this test in elderly who are members of West Clubs of Tehran Senile Culture House. The Evaluation Method In accordance to IQOLA standard, the translation process, the evaluation of difficulty of the translation and the quality of the translation was performed. In order to evaluate the content validity of the translated material, it was given to seven well known experts of this field for evaluation. In order to evaluate the reliability of the test, the Persian version was given to sixty elder patients and scores were registered twice within seven days. Results Easiness and good quality of the Persian translation, agreement between experts on the validity of the content, relative matching between initial and secondary registered scores resulting in high reliability were observed. Discussion Considering the results achieved and the research done this method seems suitable. Keywords Elder Patient, Working Functionality, COPM, Validity, Reliability
