Parents' and school professionals' involvement as a target for treating or preventing childhood obesity has been established in the literature, but the relationships among parenting perceptions, school professionals' perceptions, and the children's weight status are not reliable (Huang, Donohue, Becerra, & Xu, 2009). The purpose of this qualitative narrative study was to explore the lived experience of perceptions and observations by the parents and school professional participants. The qualitative narrative study involved a convenience sampling of the contributions of 12 parents and 11 professionals in one on-one-interviews. Twelve parents responded to 18 semi- structured, open-ended questions. Eleven professionals responded to 10 opened-ended questions. The participants' children or students were enrolled at a K-8 elementary school. Six themes emerged from the qualitative data using manual and qualitative software analysis of the transcribed interviews: (a) executing campaign; (b) reflections of healthy; (c) encourage how and quality time; (d) parents' relationship with school lunch breaks; (e) parents opinions and experiences; (f) professionals' opinions and experiences.
