The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of Dr. Goldiamond's Constructional Approach for students who engage in behaviors that interfere with their academic success and training parents in replacement behaviors they can teach their children to become more successful in an academic setting. This research expands on the work initially pioneered by Israel Goldiamond (1974). This study focused on shaping new behaviors that were identified by the use of nonlinear analysis, analyzing current contingencies. The new behaviors were taught by manipulating current contingencies and Basic Skills Training.
