The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria (CCRN), in recent years embarked on a series of enrichment programs to satisfy its members' spiritual growth and enrichment needs. This yearning by CCRN members is not unique as according to a 2016 Pew Research, there is a global hunger for spirituality. A review of CCRN's existing enrichment programs showed a variety of programs with the same focus. Hence the need to offer a program with a different focus and the hope that CCRN members could benefit from the trend of increased interests by diverse groups around the world in affiliating with contemplative outreach initiatives. This project comprised a nine-session workshop to teach prayer skills related to contemplative practices: lectio divina, meditation, contemplation, reflections, and journaling; didactic sessions; discussion sessions; daily assigned prayers and scriptures; weekly reflection memos, survey data collection to measure desired outcomes, and participant perceptions on ten concepts related to spiritual growth rooted in contemplative practices. The data analysis results and post program evaluation showed all five program goals were successfully met and consistent testimonials by several participants affirmed the program's contribution to their experience of a greater appreciation for their charismatic spirituality, growth in intimacy through a deepened sense of God and self, a deeper appreciation of the importance of silence and solitude in private prayers, a stronger sense of harmony between their erstwhile charismatic approaches to personal prayer and their newly learned contemplative approach and a more balanced and detached approach to the exercise of charisms.
