This paper explores Sarah Coakley's understanding of prayer as a Trinitarian and incorporative act and the implications of that understanding for Christian orthodoxy in general and pentecostal theology and spirituality in particular. Beginning with a brief history of the incorporative vision of prayer, the paper then asks what gifts Coakley has for pentecostals and what gifts they have to offer her in return.
