Euthanasia , rendered in Arabic usually as al-qatl al-raḥīm (merciful killing), means literally the procuring of an easy and painless death. Although euthanasia generally implies ending an individual's life out of compassion for that person's suffering, bioethical sources make two significant distinctions.
