Abū l-Muṭarrif ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Kabīr b. Yaḥyā Ibn Wāfid b. Muhannad al-Lakhmī (398-467/1008-1075) was a famous physician and agronomist from Toledo. The main source about his life and work is the Ṭabaqāt al-umam (83-4) by Ṣāʿid al-Andalusī (d. 462/1070), who personally met Ibn Wāfid and whose information is fundamentally followed and completed by Ibn al-Abbār (d. 658/1260) in his Takmila (551) and Ibn Abī Uṣaybiʿa (d. 668/1270) in his ʿUyūn al-anbāʾ (
