Abstract: Recently, land subsidence due to natural and human factors changed to catastrophic destruction for the residential, agricultural and industrial areas. Due to the lack of surface water sources in Hadishahr plain, groundwater is the main water supply source for drinking, industrial and agricultural demands. The aquifer area is 55.7 square kilometers, And the depth of groundwater varies between 15 to 160 meters. The groundwater level declination due to increasing withdrawal in this plain has a long history and which may cause land subsidence. In this study, the high potential subsidence areas of Hadishar plain were identified to control and manage this phenomenon and presented the feasibility of mapping the Dynamic of land Subsidence Vulnerability Indices (DSVI) in plains. This is created by using ALPRIFT framework, for this purpose seven hydrogeological factors considered in this framework including: Aquifer media (A), Land use (L), Pumping of groundwater (P), Recharge (R), Impact of alluvium thickness (I), Fault distance (F) and Groundwater level decline (T). where the groundwater level decline in hadishahr aquifer plain is approx. 4 m during 2004-2018 period and this is a strong telltale sign for subsidence. The objectives of this research is done in three Modules. (i) Module I, mapping Subsidence Vulnerability Indices (SVI) by applying the basic ALPRIFT framework and optimization weights by Inclusive Multiple Modelling (IMM); and (ii) Module II, predicting groundwater levels by GMDH model; Module III: combines the results from Modules I and II to produce time variant SVI maps. Module I employ a single modelling strategy at two levels: at Level 1, multiple models are constructed by Sugeno Fuzzy Logic (SFL) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) models. (ii) At Level 2, the outputs of models at Level 1 are combined by Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The results show the ALPRIFT framework has a statistically significant signal but not sufficiently defensible to produce hotspot maps of the study area. The modelling results of module I show that their combiner models through IMM practices enhance their modelling accuracies towards making them defensible. The DSVI results produced by Module III show that the plain is vulnerable to subsidence and the greater the decline of water table, the greater will be the extent of the hotspot areas exposed to the risk of subsidence.
