Most industries often use pigments for a variety of purposes, Which can infect the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to find an effective method for removing contaminants. Advanced oxidation processes are a useful technique for eliminating contaminants. Photocatalyst is an advanced oxidation process in the presence of semiconductors as a catalyst. In the present work, a facile ultrasonic-assisted method was developed for the synthesis of ZnO/NiO nanostructures. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) techniques was applied for characterization of structure, purity, morphology and optical properties of the resultant samples. The photocatalytic performance of the synthesized ZnO/NiO nanostructures was evaluated by monitoring the photodegradation of Rhodamine B under UV light irradiation. Moreover, the influence of various parameters, such as molar percentage of NiO to ZnO, initial Rhodamine B concentration, pH of solution and photocatalyst weight was studied. The results show that the photocatalytic activity of the ZnO/NiO nanostructure was higher than that of pure ZnO and NiO. The results of analyzes indicate that high-purity and single-phase nanoparticles with an approximate size of less than 50 nm were synthesized. the SEM images represent the spherical state of nanostructures. The effect of different parameters such as molar nickel oxide concentration on zinc oxide, initial concentration of rhodamine B, pH, photocatalyst and photocatalytic performance on the degradation of other colors such as MB and MO were investigated. The results show that the photocatalytic activity of ZnO / NiO nanostructures is higher than that of zinc oxide and pure NiO nanoparticles alone. Nanocomposites with 10

The results show that the photocatalytic activity of ZnO / NiO nanostructures is higher than that of zinc oxide and pure NiO nanoparticles alone. Nanocomposites with 10 molar percent of nickel oxide exhibit the most photocatalytic degradation. The results indicate that the photocatalytic degradation of the color contributes to the first-order kinetics and corresponds to the Langmuir-Hinschlood kinetic model
