Introduction: Appropriately planned immediate dental implant placement into fresh extraction sites is a predictable procedure. Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by non-reversible tissue destruction resulting in progressive attachment loss and destruction. Although periodontal health has shown signs of improvement in representative national and regional epidemiologic surveys in recent decades, periodontitis is a major public health problem due to high prevalence and it may lead to tooth loss and negatively affect chewing function and esthetics and impair quality of life. Numerous studies have shown that increased bone loss and implant failure are greater in subjects with implant therapy with a history of periodontal disease. The purpose of this study was to measure the association of immediate dental implant survival in periodontally compromised patients with status of diabetes, smoking and hygiene maintenance regimen.
