Adīb Maẓhar al-Maʿlūf (1898-1928) was a Lebanese poet. He is considered a pioneer of the symbolist movement in Arabic literature. Born in the village of Muḥayditha, he received an early education in Arabic and French, which provided him with a solid foundation in the literary traditions of these languages. He was particularly influenced by Charles Baudelaire (d. 1867) and Albert Samain (d. 1900).
