Ibn al-Ṣaghīr was the author of Akhbār al-aʾimma l-Rustumiyyīn , a chronicle on the Rustamid imāms of Tāhart, composed after 294/907. Except for Ibn Sallām's Kitāb fīhi badʾ al-Islām (late third/ninth century), it is the earliest text on the history of North African Ibāḍīs.
