Imam Abdullah Haron (b. 8 February 1924, d. 27 September 1969) was arrested on Wednesday 29 May 1969 by the Security Branch of apartheid South Africa at his Cape Flats home in Cape Town, where he resided with his wife-to whom he was married according to Muslim law-and his three children; he was detained under the government's infamous Terrorism Act No. 83 of 1967, which permitted 180 days of detention without trial.
