Arūr (a variation al-Rūr and Alūr) was a city on the Indus River in northern Sind, situated at 27°41' N and 68°56' E. Prior to the Arab conquest of 93-6/711-14, Arūr was renowned as the political and economic centre for a large and influential state extending from Sind into the Punjāb and Afghanistan.
