Al-Hayṣam b. Jābir Abū Bayhas (d. 94/713), of the Banū Saʿd b. Ḍubayʿa, was a Khārijī figure in Iraq and Arabia at the end of the first Islamic century and eponymous founder of a key Khārijī sect. He is not to be confused with the Ḥanẓala b. Bayhas whom Abū Mikhnaf places in a group of Khārijī foundational figures who broke with Ibn al-Zubayr and left Mecca for Basra in 64/683 (al-Ṭabarī, Taʾrīkh al-rusul wa-l-mulūk , ed. M.
