Objective: Balance relies heavily on appropriate reflexes that are constantly updating based on information received from sensory and muscle receptors. The various sensory inputs include the vestibular system, vision, properioceptive, hearing, and tactile, which integrate into the vestibular nucleus complex to interpret complex sensory environments. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of auditory input on postural control using sensory organization test (with and without head movement).Subjects and Methods: This study was conducted on eight equilibrium conditions with open eyes, closed eyes, firm surface, foam, with and without horizontal head movement, and in three silent modes, wearing ear protectors and providing noise to 50 normal subjects (mean age 25/84±3/89) positional variables (sway area, mean amplitude in anterior-posterior and lateral directions, standard deviation in two anterior-posterior and lateral directions, Fast Fourier transform energy in two anterior - Posterior and lateral directions) were evaluated. Results: Postural sway variables in the first, second, third, fifth, sixth and eighth equilibrium condition showed improvement in posture sway in noise presentation and ear protection compared to silent mode. Noise and ear protection in the fourth and seventh positions had no significant effect on postural sway variables. Conclusion: Noise presentation and use of ear protectors improved posture stability but the effect of noise presentation was more pronounced than wearing ear protection. Given the improved postural stability in the presence of noise and the conditions associated with head movements, it can be suggested that the use of noise may be helpful in the rehabilitation of elderly and vestibular disorder patients. Keywords: Auditory Clues, Ear Protector, Noise, Sensory Organizing Test, Head-Shake Sensory Organization Test
