to be associated with personal characteristics such as sex , economic dependency as well as the type of household.But its realated with age and educational level. In addition didnt to be associatedwith family economical level. But family characteristics such as the quality of family relations and caregiver educational level were found to be associated with the presence of abuse.Key words:elder abuse- family factors tبresulting from the lengthening of life expectancy that has occurred during the last decades.Results: This study investigates the phenomenon of elder abuse, and its related family factors a mong resident of elder (nursing) homes of Tehran city.A total of 84 persones were interviewed at 14 elder houses in Tehran. The frequency of old people who experienced any one category of abuse was 75 and emotional neglect was the most frequent while physical abuse was least prevalent.The experience of abuse didn پIran is rapidly becoming an aging society
