Today teenagers potentionally to confront with negative experiences.confrontation methods with problems to need special social competence in 4 demensions:behavirol,cognitive,emotional and motivative.the aim of the present study was to investigative the effects problem solving training on girl teenagers in grade 3 of junior high school on promoting their social competence.Material and methods:Present study was experimental.subjects were 90girls students in grade 3 of junior high school.social competence scale of flener was used.after assessing social two groups(experimental and control)and problem solving were instructed to experimental group. then students of two groups completed social competence scale of flener.data were analyzed with independent two- samples t-test and paired-t-test.Results:The results of analyzing showed that problem solving training increased social competence of experimental group.(p<0.003)There was no significant difference in befor and after intervention in cognitive dimension.but in other dimensions(behavioral, motivative and emotional)the results of hypothesis examination demonstrated that there was meaningful connection between the contral and experimental groups.Conclusion:Finding of this study indicate that the training of problem solving was effective to increase social competence of student in experimental group. Therefore is recommended establishment of p.s.c clinics by expert team in schools for all students is considerd.Key words: Problem solving/social competence (cognitive-behavioral-emotional motivative)
