This study examined the construct validity, and improved the test reliability and the estimation accuracy for the correlation between domains of the WHOQOL-100 using multidimensional Rasch analysis.A total of 500 physical-mobility disabled person, that have more over 15 years old were administered the WHOQOL-100 persian version, which consists of 6 subscales (domains). The multidimensional form of the partial credit model was used to examine the fit of the 6 subscales. For comparison, each subscale individually was also fitted to the unidimensional partial credit model. In addition unidimensional partial credit model was fitted to all items in questionnaire simultaneously. Standard item fit statistics, analysis of differential item functioning(DIF) and disordered categories were used to check suitability of items. During the three-step model fit 40 items were deemed inappropriate.After excluding four general items and 40 items that were deemed inappropriate,the remained items confirmed standards of model. The test reliabilities and correlations between domains obtained from the multidimensional approach,(0.785, 0.960) and (0.483 , 0.891), respectively, were much higher than those obtained from the unidimensional approach, (0.660 , 0.880) and (0.356 , 0.724),respectively..Finally we can conclude the remaining items in the questionnaire, in comparison with WHOQOL-100, can calculate limited but more meaningful measures and the multidimensional approach yields not only more accurate estimates for the correlation between domains but also substantially higher reliabilities, than the standard unidimensional approach.Key words: item response theory model, Rasch analysis, reliability, quality of life.
