Introduction: Many factors have been associated with the development and maintenance of generalized social phobia (GSP); however, the ways in which these factors interact with one another to produce and maintain GSP remains unclear. The current research proposes that Kimbrel Model based on Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory (RST) can be used to integrate a wide range of factors into a unified and theoretically-driven model of GSP. The aim of this research is the evaluation of kimbrel model in Iranian population.Method: The aim of this study was to investigate the interactional relationship between behavioral inhibition and cognitive factors in the development of social anxiety symptoms. This study has been done in two stages in a cross-sectional comparative and Semi-experimental framework. In stage one a sample of 408 students who were selected by the arbitrary sampling method completed research questionnaires and in stage two, cardiovascular response in 13 people with GSP has evaluated.
