This M.A thesis aims to investigate the impacts of the literariness of English songs on the Iranian psyche. The study recognizes that music, as a universal language, has the power to evoke emotions and influence individuals’ thoughts and behaviours. Specifically, it focuses on English songs, which have gained popularity among Iranians in recent years. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining literary analysis and quantitative methods to gather comprehensive data. Firstly, a content analysis is conducted to identify the literary elements present in English songs. This analysis involves examining lyrics, themes, metaphors, and other literary devices used in a sample of popular English songs. After this analysis, the most probable psychological impact of the lyrics of the mentioned songs is investigated. These investigations look at how these songs affect the feelings, thoughts and cultural identity of the listeners. Furthermore, a survey questionnaire is distributed among a larger sample of Iranians to quantitatively measure the psychological effects of English songs on their psyche. This survey assesses variables such as emotional responses (e.g., happiness, sadness), cognitive processes (e.g., reflection, imagination), and cultural identification (e.g., feeling connected or disconnected from Iranian culture). The findings from this research are expected to contribute to our understanding of the role that English songs play in shaping the Iranian psyche. By exploring the literariness of these songs and its impact on emotions, thoughts, and cultural identity among Iranians, this study aims to shed light on the complex relationship between music and psychology within a cross-cultural context. Ultimately, it is hoped that this research can provide insights for musicians, psychologists, educators, and policymakers regarding the potential benefits or challenges associated with exposure to foreign music in different cultural settings.

این پایان نامه کارشناسی ارشد هدف بررسی تأثیر ادبیّت ترانه‌های انگلیسی بر روان ایرانیان را دارد. این مطالعه تشخیص می‌دهد که موسیقی به عنوان یک زبان جهانی، قدرت برانگیختن عواطف و تأثیرگذاری بر افکار و اعمال افراد را دارد. به طور خاص روی آهنگ‌های انگلیسی تمرکز دارد که در سال‌های اخیر در بین ایرانیان محبوبیت پیدا کرده است. این پژوهش از روشی ترکیبی استفاده می‌کند و روش‌های کمی و کیفی را برای جمع آوری داده‌های جامع با هم می¬آمیزد. ابتدا یک تحلیل محتوایی برای شناسایی عناصر ادبی موجود در آهنگ‌های انگلیسی انجام می‌شود. این تجزیه و تحلیل شامل بررسی اشعار، مضامین، استعاره‌ها و سایر ابزارهای ادبی مورد استفاده در نمونه‌هایی از آهنگ‌های محبوب انگلیسی است. پس از این تحلیل، محتمل‌ترین تأثیر روانی متن آهنگ‌های مذکور بررسی می¬شود. این بررسی‌ها به چگونگی تأثیر این آهنگ‌ها بر عواطف، افکار و هویت فرهنگی شنوندگان می‌پردازد. علاوه بر این، یک پرسشنامه نظرسنجی بین تعدادی از ایرانیان در گروه سنی 15 تا 30 سال توزیع می¬شود تا به طور کمّی تأثیرات روانشناختی آهنگ‌های انگلیسی بر روان آنها اندازه گیری شود. این نظرسنجی متغیرهایی مانند پاسخ‌های عاطفی (مانند شادی و غم) و فرآیندهای شناختی (مانند تأمل و تخیل) را ارزیابی می‌کند. انتظار می‌رود یافته‌های این تحقیق به درک ما از نقشی که ترانه‌های انگلیسی در شکل دادن به روان جمعی ایرانی ایفا می‌کنند کمک کند. هدف این پژوهش با بررسی ادبیّت این ترانه‌ها و تأثیر آن بر عواطف، افکار و هویت فرهنگی در میان ایرانیان، تبیین کردن رابطه پیچیده بین موسیقی و روان‌شناسی در بستری بین‌فرهنگی است. در نهایت، امید است که این تحقیق بتواند بینش‌هایی را برای موسیقی¬دانان، روان¬شناسان، مربیان و سیاست گذاران در مورد مزایا یا چالش‌های بالقوه مرتبط با قرار گرفتن در معرض موسیقی خارجی در محیط‌های فرهنگی مختلف ارائه دهد.
