Family is an essential unit for all social activities, and it has been found in everywhere and among all human societies as the most basic social institution and needless to say it has been the origin of culture, civilizations and human history. The family fulfills the basic needs of society. Today the nature, characteristics and the function of the family are changed. Sam Shepard as one of the primary American playwrights who has been captivated by the modern American family and culture is a good candidate for scrutinizing family issues. The common thematic elements such as realistic nature, family concerns, father role and his effect on the members, fragmentation also disintegration of American values, and the land power as a hope offering to regenerate American society.Shepard's plays include Buried Child, The Late Henry Moss, Simpatico, Curse of the Starving Class, True West, Fool for Love, A Lie of the Mind, and States of Shock fascinated, and sometimes mystified or irritated, cosmopolitan metropolis critics because they were so concerned with American family issues. In society, human beings are influenced by others. This study is about the disturbing modern American family in Sam Shepard’s selected plays and Shepard’s concern of Americans and their crisis of family have been chosen as the aim of this analysis. In a family, from parents to children, they are influential in shaping each other’s personality. The main reason for the breakdown of family is society and the characters are depicted as being lost in the persistent images, with no clear bond to family. Methodologically speaking this thesis will have the following body: Introduction which gives an overview of the whole study; it then goes to chapter one entitled “A Survey of Sam Shepard’s Dramas” which is a description of selected plays of Sam Shepard; The second chapter entitled “The Role of Modern Family Members in Sam Shepard’s Buried Child and True West under the Light of Sociocultural Studies”; The third chapter entitled “Derrida, Deconstruction and Disintegration of Family Pillars” represents a conceptual understanding of the collapsing pillars of western family that are less robust or less cohesive and gradually vanished into oblivion; Ultimately, the concluding chapter summarizes the overall research findings and their implications.

خانواده یک واحد اساسی برای تمام فعالیت‌های اجتماعی است و در همه جا و در میان همه جوامع انسانی به عنوان مهم‌ترین نهاد اجتماعی و به عنوان مهم‌ترین نهاد اجتماعی و به عنوان منشا فرهنگ, تمدن‌ها و تاریخ بشری شناخته شده‌است.خانواده نیازهای اساسی جامعه را برآورده می‌کند.امروزه ماهیت, ویژگی‌ها و کارکرد خانواده تغییر کرده‌است.سام شپرد به عنوان یکی از اولین نمایش نامه نویس آمریکایی که شیفته خانواده و فرهنگ مدرن آمریکایی شده, کاندیدای خوبی برای بررسی مسائل خانوادگی است.عناصر موضوعی مشترکی چون طبیعت واقع گرایانه, دغدغه‌های خانوادگی, نقش پدر و تاثیر او بر اعضا, تجزیه و متلاشی شدن ارزش‌های آمریکایی, و قدرت کشور به عنوان امیدی برای بازسازی جامعه آمریکایی, غرب حقیقی, احمق برای عشق, دروغ گفتن ذهن, و حالات شوکه کننده شخصیت ها در این تحقیق بررسی شده است. منتقدان کلان شهرها به مسائل خانوادگی آمریکا در جامعه منتقد هستند و براین باور هستند که انسان‌ها تحت‌تاثیر دیگران قرار می‌گیرند.این پژوهش در صدد است تا در مورد خانواده آمریکایی در نمایشنامه‌های منتخب سام شپرد و نگرانی شپرد از خانواده آمریکا و بحران آن‌ها در خانواده که به عنوان هدف این تحلیل انتخاب شده‌است پاسخ دهد.در یک خانواده, از والدین گرفته تا کودک, آن‌ها در شکل دادن به شخصیت یکدیگر تاثیرگذار هستند.دلیل اصلی فروپاشی خانواده, جامعه است و شخصیت‌ها پایداری لازم دربرابر مشکلات زندگی و پیوند مشخصی با خانواده ندارند.از نظر روش‌ پژوهش این پایان‌نامه ساختار زیر را خواهد داشت: مقدمه که مروری کلی بر کل پژوهش دارد; سپس به فصل یک می‌پردازد با عنوان "بررسی نمایش نامه های سام شپرد" که شرحی از نمایشنامه های منتخب سام شپرد است؛ فصل دوم با عنوان "نقش اعضای مدرن خانواده در کودک مدفون سام شپرد و غرب واقعی در پرتو مطالعات فرهنگی اجتماعی" ; فصل سوم با عنوان «دریدا، ساختارشکنی و فروپاشی ارکان خانواده» بیانگر درکی مفهومی از ستون های در حال فروپاشی خانواده غربی است که استحکام یا منسجمی کمتری دارند و به تدریج در معرض فراموشی قرار می گیرند؛ در نهایت، فصل پایانی یافته های کلی تحقیق و مفاهیم آنها را خلاصه می کند.
