The role of EFL teachers and their personal traits in language contexts are undeniable.Moreover, with the advent of modern technologies and new ways of learning that were unknownseveral years ago, it is clearly interesting to investigate learners’ and teachers’ individualdifferences in different online EFL environments. The present study attempted to investigate andcompare EFL teachers’ burnout and self-efficacy in Iran and Turkey. The participants of thisstudy were 38 male and female EFL teachers (19 Iranian teachers and 19 Turkish teachers)selected from the institutes in Tabriz and Izmir cities. These were teachers teaching learners atadvanced proficiency level. The data was gathered through a mixed-method design includingquantitative and qualitative instruments. The instruments of this study included Maslach BurnoutInventory and Bandura’s self-efficacy questionnaire. Moreover, an open-ended interview wasdeveloped to explore teachers’ perceptions about the advantages and disadvantages of onlinecourses. The reliability was calculated by Cronbach’s alpha and the validity was ensured bycontent validity obtained via consulting the supervisor. In order to analyze the data, MannWhitney U test was administered. The obtained results revealed that there was not anysignificant relationship between EFL teachers’ burnout in Iran and Turkey. However, asignificant relationship was found between EFL teachers’ self-efficacy in Iran and Turkey. Thefindings of this study have some implications for EFL language teachers and learners

نقش معلمان زبان و ویژگی های فردی آنها در محیطا های آموزش زبان امری اجتناب ناچذیر هست. علاوه بر این، با ظهور فناوری های مدرن و روش های جدید یادگیری که چند سال پیش ناشناخته بود، بررسی تفاوت های فردی زبان آموزان و معلمان در محیط های مختلف آنلاین آموزش زبان امری جالب بنظر می آید. مطالعه حاضر به بررسی و مقایسه فرسودگی شغلی و خودکارآمدی معلمان زبان در ایران و ترکیه پرداخته است. شرکت کنندگان در این مطالعه 38 معلم مرد و زن (19معلم ایرانی و 19 معلم ترک) از شهرهای تبریز و ازمیر می باشند. این معلمان به زبان آموزان مقطع پیشرفته آموزش می دهند. ابزار مورد استفاده در این تحقیق شامل پرسشنامه فرسودگی شغلی Maslach و پرسشنامه خودکارآمدی Bandura می باشند. یک پرسشنامه باز برای بررسی دیدگاه معلمان در مورد مزایا و معایب دوره های آنلاین تهیه شد. پایایی با استفاده از آلفای کرونباخ محاسبه شد و اعتبار با اعتبار محتوایی که از طریق مشورت با استاد مشاور بدست آمد، تضمین گردید. برای تحلیل داده ها از آزمون Mann-Whitney U استفاده شده است. نتایج بدست آمده نشان داد که رابطه معناداری بین فرسودگی شغلی معلمان ایرانی و ترک وجود ندارد. با این حال، بین خودکارآمدی معلمان ایرانی و ترک رابطه معنادار وجود دارد. یافته های این تحقیق می تواند برای معلمان زبان و زبان آموزان مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
